The malls, the parks, the Corniche
Cool, safe and free to walk through for hours. Grass, playgrounds, jogging tracks and shade, built with ramps so nobody is left at the gate. Seven kilometres of waterfront that belong to no one and to all of us.

Every national museum, free for anyone holding a Qatar ID. Mathaf and the heritage sites free for everyone, resident or not.
The library & the schools
A free membership, more than a million books in sixteen languages, and eight world universities in one city.
The activities, and the people we share them with
Sport Day is a national holiday so the whole country can move together. Festivals, corniche runs, beach days, night markets. Three million of us, from every corner of the earth, side by side — and nobody has ever asked us to stop being ourselves.

Keeping it true
Every figure on this site is checked against the body that published it, and re-checked when the numbers change. Budgets, fares and fees move every year. A site that quietly goes stale is worse than no site at all.
More languages
Malayalam, Tagalog, Urdu, Nepali, Bangla, Sinhala. So that the people who most need to be heard can say thank you — and read it back — in the language they think in.
The monthly letter
A short bilingual email carrying the messages that arrived that month. No marketing in it, ever — only what people wrote.
Schools
Children write or draw their own thank-you to Qatar, and we publish them. The drawings from six-year-olds are, so far, the best thing on this site.
The National Day exhibition
The year's thank-yous, printed and shown somewhere people already walk — free to visit, in both languages, with the children's drawings alongside.
Recording the long-stayers
People who came for two years and stayed for thirty, telling it in their own voice. Recorded properly and kept, because in twenty years nobody will remember to ask.
