Who we are
Why this exists
Most of us arrived meaning to stay two or three years. Many of us are still here decades later, raising children who know no other home. Somewhere along the way, gratitude stopped being a feeling and started being a fact worth writing down. That is all this site is.
What we are not
We are not a government body, a charity, a campaign, or a company. Nobody pays us and nobody briefs us. No institution named on this site has endorsed it or been asked to. If we are wrong about something, that is our mistake alone — please tell us and we will fix it.
What we will not do
We stay away from politics entirely. No diplomacy, no foreign policy, no arguments. This is about daily life: the walk home at night, the health card, the free museum on a Friday, the park with a ramp at the gate.
How we work
Every number on this site carries a source and a date. Where an official source says “subsidised” we do not write “free”. Where two sources disagree, we show both. Where we cannot find a source, we leave the claim out — however good it sounds.
